HBC (Haebangchon) is the most popular place for young Korean people and foreigners.
HBC is an abbreviation of Hae-Bang-Chon. HBC means the “release village”.
After Korean War, many refugees started to live in the village beside the mountain Namsan. their lives were too hard and poor. Many weak and poor houses were built on the steep place because they have nothing. so HBC was the poorest village in South Korea.
Recently young people and foreigners started to visit HBC to see the old and the exotic Korean village. because HBC is very near to Itaewon and it is located in the Yongsan district.
Now, there are a lot of cafes and restaurents that are remodeled old houses.

- Parking: very hard. You don’t want to drive to the village.
