Incheon International Airport (ICN) is about 50 km west of central Seoul. Some flights from nearby Asian cities use Gimpo Airport (GMP), which is much closer to the city and on several subway lines.
Airport Railroad (AREX)
- Express train — non-stop to Seoul Station in roughly 45 minutes. Reserved seats, quiet and comfortable.
- All-stop train — slower (about an hour) and cheaper, and it connects with several subway lines on the way.
Airport limousine bus
Comfortable coaches leave from outside the arrivals hall and stop at major hotels and districts such as Gangnam, Myeongdong and Jamsil. They are the easiest choice if you have heavy luggage and your hotel is on a route.
Taxi
Taxis wait at the official ranks outside arrivals. The ride to central Seoul takes about an hour depending on traffic, and there are road tolls on the way. Deluxe black taxis are more expensive but roomier.
Tip: Write your hotel’s name in Korean and keep it on your phone to show the driver.
