Korea’s pro baseball league (the KBO League) has 10 teams, and in 2024 it drew more than 10 million fans in a single season for the first time. The cheering is as much of a show as the game, so even if you don’t follow baseball, one night will win you over.
Cheering culture
- A song for every batter — each player has his own chant, and the whole stand sings it.
- The cheer squad — a cheer leader and dancers on a stage lead the crowd all game long.
- Ballpark food — bring in fried chicken, beer or tteokbokki and eat as you watch.
Where to go
Seoul has Jamsil Baseball Stadium, shared by two teams, and the Gocheok Sky Dome. Busan’s Sajik Stadium is famous for its passionate fans. Check schedules and tickets on each team’s official app or website.
