Juwangsan is a national park in Cheongsong, Gyeongbuk. Rock peaks stand in a row like a folding screen, and the Jubang Valley trail leads through narrow gorges past a series of waterfalls. The Cheongsong area is also recognized as a UNESCO Global Geopark.
Highlights
- Yongchu Gorge and falls — the path squeezes between towering rock walls.
- Jusanji Pond — a reservoir built in the Joseon era where old willow trees grow right out of the water. On misty autumn mornings it looks like a painting.
Good to know
Foliage weekends get busy, so start early. Cheongsong is also famous for apples — in autumn the orchards along the roads turn red.
