💡 Good to know
  • Walk the loop road around the park or ride the Danubi tour train.
  • The rocks below the cliffs are dangerous in high waves — stay behind the barriers.
  • Combine it with Huinnyeoul Culture Village, also on Yeongdo, for a full day.
📷 Photo tips
  • Around Yeongdo Lighthouse, frame the cliffs, the sea and the Sinseon Rock together.
  • From the observatory you can watch big ships passing on the horizon.

Taejongdae is a coastal park at the southern tip of Yeongdo Island in Busan. A shady forest road leads to sheer cliffs dropping into the sea and rocks where the waves crash below. Legend says the name comes from King Taejong Muyeol of Silla, who loved the view here.

Highlights

  • Yeongdo Lighthouse and Sinseon Rock — walk down below the cliffs to see the sea up close.
  • Observatory — open views of the sea and the ships coming in and out of Busan port.
  • Loop trail — alternating forest and ocean views all the way around.

Nearby

Also on Yeongdo, Huinnyeoul Culture Village is a lane of small houses perched on a seaside cliff — lovely for a stroll and a coffee with a view.
