Naejangsan is a national park in Jeongeup, Jeonbuk, and one of Korea’s most famous places for autumn foliage. Its small-leaved maples turn brilliant red and gold, and the whole mountain seems to catch fire. The path to the old temple Naejangsa is the highlight.
Highlights
- The maple tunnel — the road from the park entrance to the temple is lined on both sides with maples.
- Uhwajeong Pavilion — a pavilion on a pond, mirrored in the water with the colored hills behind.
- Cable car and viewpoint — an easy way to see the ridges from above.
Good to know
Peak color shifts a little each year, so check the foliage forecast. Many people combine it with nearby Baegyangsa Temple.
