The Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) is a flowing, silver building designed by the architect Zaha Hadid and opened in 2014. With hardly a straight line in sight, it is one of the most photographed buildings in Seoul, and it hosts exhibitions, design markets and fashion events all year round.
Around DDP
Remains of the old Seoul city wall survive on the site, and nearby stands Heunginjimun (Dongdaemun Gate), the great east gate of the old capital. The surrounding Dongdaemun fashion district is famous for wholesale and retail clothing malls that stay open late into the night.
Getting there
It connects directly to Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station (Lines 2, 4 and 5).
