Myeongdong is the best-known shopping district in Seoul for visitors. Korean skincare and cosmetics stores, fashion shops and money exchanges line the streets, and in the evening street food stalls fill the middle of the road — it feels like a festival every night.
What to see
- Myeongdong Cathedral — a red-brick Gothic church completed in 1898, standing quietly on the hill above the busy streets.
- Street food — skewers, egg bread, tornado potatoes and plenty more to snack on as you walk.
Getting there
Get off at Myeongdong Station (Line 4) or Euljiro 1-ga Station (Line 2). The Namsan cable car is within walking distance, so it is easy to add N Seoul Tower to your evening.
