Namsan is a forested mountain right in the middle of Seoul, and N Seoul Tower on its summit is the city’s most recognizable landmark. From the observation deck or the terrace below it you can see all of Seoul — from the Han River to the granite peaks of Bukhansan in the north.
When to go
Go up at sunset and stay as the sky fades and the city lights switch on, one district at a time. In spring, the road around Namsan is lined with cherry blossoms.
Getting there
Ride the Namsan cable car, take a city bus, or enjoy the uphill walk through the park. Don’t miss the thousands of “love locks” that couples have left on the terrace railings.
