💡 Good to know
  • Insadong is the best place in Seoul for traditional souvenirs and tea.
  • Take a break in a traditional tea house with jujube or five-flavor tea.
  • Insadong, Bukchon and Samcheong-dong are all walkable from Anguk Station.

Insadong

A street of tea houses, art galleries and shops selling ceramics, calligraphy brushes, hanji paper and other crafts. Ssamziegil, a spiral-shaped shopping building, is full of small design shops. Duck into a traditional tea house in the side alleys for jujube tea or five-flavor tea (omija-cha) — a calm, warming break.

Samcheong-dong

Running north along the east wall of Gyeongbokgung Palace, Samcheong-dong’s streets are lined with galleries, museums, cafes and small shops. Bukchon Hanok Village is right next door, so it is easy to see both in one walk. Everything here is within walking distance of Anguk Station (Line 3).
